  Azerbaijani female chess player beats Armenian rival 

Azerbaijani female chess player Govhar Beydullayeva has defeated Armenian Mariam Mkrtchyan in Round 9 of the FIDE World Junior Chess Championship U20 – Open, held in Sardinia, Italy on October 11-23, AzVision.az reports. 

After nine rounds, Beydullayeva tops the table with eight points.

Another Azerbaijani chess player Laman Hajiyeva drew with Kazakhstan`s Assel Serikbay, scoring 6.5 points.

The Swiss system tournament features 11 rounds.
